THANK YOU
Every month we are in awe at the goodness of God manifested through your ongoing prayers and support of this ministry. We are humbled by your love and encouragement. How we wish that we had the time to write to each and everyone of you individually or, better yet, to give each of you a big hug and say “thank you.” You truly have been a blessing through the years.
BACK IN THE LAND – DOING WHAT WE LOVE
We are so grateful to be back in Israel and to carry on ministering into the lives of the precious young leaders here. Dan and I were remarking the other day how truly blessed we are to be entrusted with such an amazing group of emerging leaders. We wish you could get to know them, as they truly are the hidden treasures of God’s people in the Land.
It is a privilege to serve as elders at Ahavat Yeshua and now we have just ordained a new young man, Ariel B., to eldership. He and his wife, Vered, have such a heart for God and his Kingdom and are so motivated to see people come into their calling and destiny. It is our hope to release more and more leadership responsibility to these new elders and give them freedom to fly with the vision God has given them.
BIRTHING A UNIFIED APOSTOLIC/PROPHETIC MOVEMENT
We are happy to report that there is continued progress in building a unified apostolic/prophetic movement in Israel … not an easy task. There has not been one functioning in the Land since the early period of the Messianic Jewish congregation and we firmly believe that the establishment of the five-fold ministries in Israel is one of the keys to hastening the day of our Lord’s return. Every move of the Spirit, since the Reformation, has been used by God to re-establish a major truth to the believing community. The Protestant Movement in the early 1500s restored the revelation that salvation was by grace and not by works (Martin Luther). Then the Evangelical Movement began around 1600 and reemphasized the truth of baptism by immersion (Baptists, Puritans and Quakers are among this group). The Holiness Movement, which was started in the 1700s by John Wesley, taught on holiness and victorious Christian living (Methodist, Nazarene, and Church of God denominations).
Then in the 1880s the Divine Healing Movement began which restored the truth of divine faith healing of the body (Christian Missionary Alliance). In the early 1900s God restored the importance of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues which has become known as the Pentecostal Movement (Assemblies of God, Foursquare, Pentecostal Church of God, Church of God in Christ, and United Pentecostal Church). The four decades 1948-1988 began what is known as the Charismatic Movement which emphasized all the past restoration truths. Out of this came the Faith Movement and the Charismatic Renewal. Overlapping this last move is the present day Messianic Jewish Movement which most consider to have been birthed in 1967 when Jerusalem was returned to the Jewish people. Then we have the restoration of the five-fold ministry of the apostles and prophets during the nineties until the present.
Could it be that we, the believing remnant in Israel, are representing the faithful heart of God towards his people? Even when our people were unfaithful and our hearts went after other gods, he has remained true to his promises. He has chosen to extend mercy to a disobedient people in fulfillment of his word to Jeremiah, that as long as there is a covenant with night and day there will always be a remnant of his chosen ones (Jeremiah 31:35-36). His covenant with Abraham is a forever covenant and we are reaping those promises now. Perhaps the truth that is being shouted through our very existence is, “God is faithful.” We are confident that the battle to establish his Kingdom order in Israel is his battle … our job is to stand firm like Abraham. Against all hope in hope he believed and his faith was not weakened but strengthened (Romans 4:18-19). It is only when the ministry of the five-fold apostolic team is in operation (Ephesians 4:11-14) that the believing community will be empowered to walk in unity, a necessary pre-requisite for the return of the Lord (John 17). Asher recently finished a book about this that is excellent. As the Lord’s olive tree is growing strong and healthy in the Land, so the wild branches have something secure in which they can be engrafted. With this proper alignment, an abundance of blessings will be poured out in the last days to prepare His bride for his return.
Longing for His return,
Dan and Patty
