Dan: Last month Patty and I had a conversation about our personal newsletter. She reminded me that our readers need to read new, true and interesting things, not only to see every month that we are having equipping meetings, mentoring new leaders, and helping to foster the movement here. Well, it is a bit hard since this is so much a part of what we are so diligently doing every month when we are in Israel. We are committed to generational transfer to those who will carry the same vision and values, both when we are no longer able to carry on with such energy and when we are gone! At this point we have great energy and motivation.
However, there is some important new information. I am in the midst of publishing three new books that are co-financed with an arm of Charisma known as Chosen Books. Some time ago I had lunch with Steve Strang, the editor of Charisma Magazine. I spoke of my concern about some of the aberrations being taught on what is known as the Prosperity Gospel. Yes, God does promise prosperity, but it is very specifically defined in a context of God’s purpose for us to fulfill our destiny of Kingdom extension. It is not about personal opulence. So he encouraged me to write a book, which will soon be out. It is entitled, Prosperity, What the Bible Really Teaches. Well, the good folks at Charisma thought that there are other doctrines that are taught in ways that are also a bit off. They asked that I write this book as part of a series. So there are two other books in preparation as well: Angels, Demons, and Spiritual Warfare, What the Bible Says and Heaven, Hell and the After Life, What the Bible Says. This last is a response to some of the trends among the post-modern Evangelical younger generation people who are saying that just about everyone will be saved. Then there is a fourth book I am self-publishing entitled, The Story of Samuel. This is the story of the death of our 12 year old son in a house fire. It recounts his miraculous healing when he was one year old and then our loss 11 years later. We learned many lessons and saw miracles at the very time we lost our son.
So now, besides our normal expenses to travel and carry out our ministry in Israel and around the world, we are seeking a boost to help finance our responsibility in the publication of these books. After they are released, I will have written 20 books, all of which are in print. I never wanted to write books. This was abhorrent to me. However, I would have a burden for truth and so the books were written in spite of my resistance. Please note that all the royalties and proceeds from the books Patty and I have published go back into the ministry and not to us personally.
We would ask you to pray and consider an extra gift this month along with your normal giving. We believe your investment is bearing much fruit.
In the Messiah’s Love and Service,
Dan and Patty Juster
