GETTING ON BOARD WITH YESHUA’S PRAYER
We are already in the midst of many spiritual challenges in building a unified network in Israel but the walls of division are coming down. True unity birthed out of union with the Messiah is the only force strong enough to expel the darkness in these days. This unity will be established because Yeshua prayed that we would be one as he and the Father are one:
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me (John 17:20-21).
The Lord is coming back for a bride that is undivided and the enemy of our soul is in a frenzy to try to bring division. The glory of God is revealed through the sanctified relationships of his people. Where two or three are gathered in his name, there he is in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). Our unity, or “oneness” is a witness to the world.
The Apostle Paul admonishes us:
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought (1 Corinthians 1:10, emphasis added).
Yes, it is possible for us to agree, as we who are in the Messiah have his mind!
The practical implementation of this unity is intertwined with the establishment of the five-fold ministry, as the team of apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers and pastors (Ephesians 4:11) is to equip the saints and to build them up so that they all reach unity and the fullness of the Messiah.
We can look out over the social, political and economic world today and see armies of darkness assembling and moving history towards a one world government. To an outside observer, it appears that this vision is unifying mankind into an indestructible force. However, all you have to do is scratch the surface and what will be seen is multitudes of broken relationships and masses of people who are unable to bond in long term relationships. The proliferation of the Romans 1 reality of depravity is becoming a glaring truth. However, no matter how powerless we may feel in the face of this world where good is called evil and evil good (Isaiah 5:20), we should have great hope. We are serving in a kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28). The kingdoms of this world will not stay unified as the image in the book of Daniel explains.
Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay. In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces (Daniel 2:41-45).
