Personal Update and Prayer

From Ben: By way of encouragement, I wanted to remind you that God is active in the world and that His Kingdom is advancing!  We know this conceptually, but we should remind ourselves daily.  Like almost everyone, I’ve been constantly reflecting on the issues shaking the world this year. The daily, tragic stories and resulting opinions debating the pandemic, race relations, police brutality, and political corruption have dominated the news and commentaries.  It may have become exhausting, and even overwhelming for you.

Yet, an emotion that God never experiences is shock.  He is never caught unaware and surprised by the state of the world.  Rather, He is utilizing every chaotic and sinful incident or circumstance to bring His own purposes to fulfillment. We know that there will be soon be a tipping point that ushers in the season for world redemption. Though no one enjoys the hardship and suffering along the way, we can all trust that God’s plans will prevail.

What is the greatest impact the believer can make in times of hardship?  I’m reminded of Hebrews 12:12-15 that exhorts us to: “strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble.  And make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame will not be pulled out of joint but rather be healed. Pursue shalom with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.  See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and see to it that no bitter root springs up and causes trouble, and by it many be defiled.” (TLV)

These words are challenging.  It seems that pursuing shalom and living a holy life are keys to revealing the Lord to a fallen world.  Seeking peace is not caving in agreement with sinful behavior or ignoring the suffering of the oppressed.  But we need to discern God’s will and ask how God intends to use these situations for His glory.  What opportunities for the Gospel are uniquely available in this moment?  How might we pursue greater intimacy with the Source of Life, so that His transforming power overflows from us as rivers of Living Water?  Ask the Lord how to actively apply these instructions from Hebrews in your own life, so that you might reveal the grace of the Lord in the midst of conflict and upheaval to those around you.

A personal update.  Our international move to Jacksonville, FL, from Israel is almost complete.  Thank you for your faithful and continued prayers for our family as we make this transition.  International moves can be challenging, and of course, the ongoing complexities of the coronavirus also impacted our move.  But praise God! I would say that we are now about 80% through the logistics of the relocation.  Our shipping containers do not arrive until late September.  But this has provided space for us to find a rental home, purchase a used car, and replace appliances that will work on US power.

In many ways, we have hit the ground running.  Lorena and I have already had several key meetings with local pastors and leaders.  I continue to coordinate several alignment projects for Tikkun Global.  One such project is the effort to get five-fold leaders to commit to basic standards of integrity and accountability.  This is not publicly launched yet, but you can see the website and a list of the leaders who have signed on to serve as originators here: www.ifli.co.

In the coming weeks, I will also be participating in and ministering during several upcoming online prayer and High Holiday events.  Please keep this in prayer as well.  Please email me at ben@tikkunglobal.org if you would like to learn more and/or to sign up to join us.

Saying goodbye to my father as I depart Israel for the US.
Moving forward into our new season in Jacksonville, FL.
Taking some time out of the busy move to visit one of the local beaches.

From Dan and Patty:

It seems to me that COVID has not slowed us down at all. I (Dan) am still working full time and as busy as ever.  So what do we do?

  1. Patty continues her ministry of mentoring and counseling leaders wives both in Israel and in the United states by Zoom.
  2. Patty continues the work of our itinerary, book keeping for Restoration from Zion, and newsletter writing with us.
  3. I, Dan, am teaching an accredited on line course at the King’s University in Dallas with 28 students: Congregational Growth and Development.
  4. I continue to write many articles for my Official Facebook Page.  I do hope you sign up.
  5. I am writing my memoirs that covers much of the history of the Messianic Jewish Movement. What a task this is!
  6. I continue to serve as an elder of our congregation here, which during Corona, emphasizes home groups and zoom services.
  7. I am continuing to mentor leaders in our congregation in Jerusalem and to mentor leaders in our network.
  8. I connect with Asher Intrater on the Tikkun Global events by Zoom which connects with David Demian and hundreds of thousands of people.
  9. I keep up with correspondence by e-mail (and I have a ton of it).
  10. I am involved in the Toward Jerusalem Council II work, which is now by Zoom until we plan to meet in Kenya in one year.  We have had meetings with the Asian, Korean, African, South American and European groups in the last six weeks.

Sometimes I feel as if I am Zoomed out.  Maybe this is a new term.  So who said anything about slowing down with age?

Covenant Partners
We encourage you to become a full covenant partner of Restoration form Zion  Our partners commit to prayer and regular giving (monthly is so helpful), so that our work outside the United States can be carried on.  The work of mentoring leaders, travelling to bring alignment to Messianic Jews and the streams of the Church, and helping to strengthen congregations is only possible because of those who regularly support us.  We ask that you would pray and ask the Spirit to show you if you are to become one of our Covenant Partners.  Then do let us know.

Restoration From Zion is the International apostolic and equipping ministry of Daniel and Patricia Juster based in Jerusalem. The ministry purposes to form solid networks of leaders around the world to partner towards the restoration of five-fold ministry (Eph. 4:11-13), building up the body so that we can all advance the unity of faith for Israel and the Church.

Restoration From Zion is a ministry under the apostolic covering of Tikkun Global, a family of several apostolic ministries led by leaders with deep historic covenant relationships and mutual accountability. In addition to many years of fruitful service in the Kingdom of God, the Tikkun International Board of Directors has had years of proven integrity in managing funds together and in each of their respective ministries. This includes audits, disclosure, and low administrative cost percentages that reflect our high standards of efficiency. For more information about Tikkun, please visit www.tikkun.tv.

Currently, we have ongoing ministry work in Israel, mentoring, building up the body of the Messiah.  Dan functions as an elder at Ahavat Yeshua and Ben has moved to Jacksonville, FL, to take up the position of the president of Tikkun America

  • Continued abundance of provision for all our Tikkun related ministries in Israel and around the world
  • Much prayer is needed not just for Messianic believers in the Land but around the world who are presently unemployed.  God will provide as he did for the Israelites when they went through the wilderness.
  • The right time for Dan and Patty to travel to the States
  • Continued health for the Juster clan
  • Wisdom for how to go forward in Israel and the nations in restoring the economy

I want to encourage all of you who receive our personal letter to sign up for Daniel Juster’s Official Page on Facebook.  You will receive many more updates and comments on immediate happenings, both in the news and in ministry.  All our books and reviews are also listed on this page.  Though I do browse through the comments on this page, there are far too many for personal responses, but I appreciate being able to keep you updated and know of your comments.
We want to thank you so much for your consistent support for our transition to Restoration from Zion, our ministry name as we continue to support all the work done in connection with the name Tikkun.  With your generous support, we are succeeding!
