Shalom!
Nina and I want to thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and for
your gifts during the difficult times we are enduring. It is a blessing
for us to have you as our ministry partners.
Are those labor pains?
Those who have given birth or witnessed childbirth know about the ambiguity
of labor pains. Sometimes it seems that the time has come, but childbirth
comes only after a while. Just recently, our daughter gave birth to a
child, and we witnessed the contractions. Sometimes they were there and
sometimes they were not. But finally, the moment of truth came, so you
can congratulate us on our first grandson!
Israel today also seems to be in birth pangs. And many people call
Israel a watch of the world. Presently the clock is behaving in a very
strange way, and it is not easy to understand the situation. The very
contradictory situation with our government has been going on for several
years. Tension and misunderstanding between secular Israel and the Orthodox
Jewish community are growing. Last month forty-five people were tragically
killed during a very strange celebration of Lag BaOmer on Mount Meron. Then
the military conflict in Gaza commenced, and tensions rose with the Arab
population inside Israel. Then there was another tragedy in the Orthodox
Jewish sector - with the collapse of synagogue stands during Shavuot, there
were two deaths and many injuries. All this happened during the ongoing
pandemic.
We recall the words of Yeshua: "Or those eighteen who died when the tower
in Siloam fell on them - do you think they were more guilty than all the
others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too
will all perish" (Luke 13:4-5).
Yeshua did not say that someone was more sinful, but he POINTED out the
problematic situation at that time. He also emphasized the IMPORTANCE OF
REPENTANCE. For us at least, this is a signal of spiritual quaking and
changes.
Many of Israel's pastors have come together in prayer groups. This
initiative is captivating many. It is important for us to understand what
the Spirit is saying to the Churches today, as we need to understand what
the Body of the Messiah should do in these difficult days. It is possible
that the Lord is leading us in an 'unfamiliar' way. And those hoping for
the usual sequence of events may become even more confused.
Yet "birth pains" in this case are not constant, and like Elijah the
prophet, we need Ravens - guidance from the Lord every day to live and to
pass on the Way of Life to others.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
Psalm 105:4
Friends, we encourage you to stand with us in prayer. We pray for you
and your loved ones.
With love in Messiah Yeshua
