Dear Faithful Friend,
Spring is in full bloom in Israel and in a little over a week, we will be celebrating the first of the Spring Feasts, Passover. It is one of the biggest holidays of the year and once again, the nation will come to a stop for an entire week as we remember God's faithfulness to this nation and His people. Three thousand five hundred years ago, God delivered us from the oppression of Egyptian slavery and brought us into the Promised Land. His victory was miraculous and total and as we celebrate this moment, our hearts are moved as we acknowledge the fulfillment of this holiday in our incredible deliverance in Yeshua.
Schools and government offices will be on vacation, most workers will only work part time and all bakeries throughout the nation will be closed. We will be having a large gathering of over twenty at our home for a Messianic seder next Friday evening.
According to the Bible, Passover, not Rosh Hashanah is the start of the New Year. And so at this time, as we look back over the past year and ahead to another year, we praise God for all he has done in our lives. As we celebrate his faithfulness to this nation, we are indeed humbled by his faithfulness to us personally. Through a challenging year, you our Zion's Glory "family" have stood by us and your generosity in prayer and support has been a tool in God's hand for us as we have been able to continue to help and to be a blessing to many.
Today as I write this letter, I felt to share with you some of the physical acts of help we have provided in the past couple of months. Many of the needs that we encounter are financial. Life in Israel is difficult. Housing is incredibly expensive, food prices are high, gasoline is beyond what a typical American can imagine and incomes tend to be low. Your generosity enables us to encourage those who are in need.
Please allow me to share a few examples:
J & A are a young couple who are expecting their first child. They did not come to us and ask for money but in one of our meetings with them, they shared some of the financial difficulties they were facing. There were needs for the birth which were expensive and beyond their ability to meet them. They had no idea where or how to deal with the lack they were facing. We prayed together, they left and God told us to help them. Because of you, we were able to give them a generous donation. They said that this donation was a true answer to prayer. Thank you!
I was visiting with an older colleague, "G" when much to my shock he told me that he had a serious medical situation. He had tried to arrange an appointment with a specialist but was told that it would be months before he could be seen. In the Israeli medical system, you always have the option of doing something privately. This takes you partially out of the health care system and costs money but also opens the door for an immediate appointment. "G" didn't have the needed funds. I prayed with him and after he left, the Lord told us to help him. Zion's Glory gave him a generous gift and now this precious brother will be seeing the doctor in a couple of days. He was overwhelmed with gratitude for this help and so relieved to know that he would receive the needed medical treatment quickly. Thank you!
"S" is a single mother. She has a large family and is stretched on every level. We talk with her, we pray with her, and we endeavor to encourage her. Several months ago, she needed to move to different location and was short the needed funds. We gave her a generous gift and she now is living in a house that is big enough for her family and it is such a blessing for them all. Thank you!
After many years of renting an apartment, M & J were blessed in a supernatural way and enabled to purchase a home. We heard that they needed a new refrigerator but did not have the funds to buy it. What joy and blessing when we told them that Zion's Glory would purchase the new appliance for them. Thank you!
Our monthly salary as Pastor of the congregation is paid for by your generosity. We give a generous donation each month to enable Ahavat Yeshua to fulfill its budgetary needs. Last year we remodeled our meeting hall and Zion's Glory helped in a significant way to cover the costly project. At the moment our meeting hall is receiving a beautiful new floor and bathrooms and again Zion's Glory has helped to make this project possible. Thank you!
God promised that he would bless those who bless Israel. We know that His return in both this life and the life to come will be beyond what we can imagine or hope for. God is so good!
We also want to wish all of you, our faithful friends a wonderful Passover. As we celebrate God's great power in the mighty deliverance from Egyptian bondage, may we all be deeply encouraged. During this holiday two thousand years ago, the same power that delivered Israel also raised Yeshua from the dead and because of His great love, is now at work in us who believe. May we walk confidently in this great power and love, defeating the works of the enemy and extending his glorious kingdom throughout the earth.
Blessings in abundance to you and your families.
We send you our love from Zion,
